“Each of the episodes has a whole world,” Guillermo del Toro says in the new teaser for Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, the upcoming Netflix anthology series that boasts an astonishing lineup of directors, writers, and performers. This trailer isn’t so much a look at the show itself as a glimpse into its backstory: why del Toro wanted to make it, what he wants to say, and how cool (and horrifying) the practical effects look.

The eight-episode series will premiere with two episodes on October 25th, with two airing each day for the next three days. So your Halloween week plans are basically set, then, right?

Netflix finally released the episode titles, along with the previously announced stars, writers, and directors:

“Dreams in the Witch House”

According to the previous announcement, Jennifer Kent and Guillermo Navarro’s episodes are based on original stories by del Toro himself, while David Prior’s is based on a short story by Michael Shea. Keith Thomas and Catherine Hardwicke’s episodes are based on H.P. Lovecraft stories; Vincenzo Natali’s episode is based on a story by Henry Kuttner; and Ana Lily Amirpour’s episode is based on a story by writer/artist Emily Carroll.

Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities premieres October 25th on Netflix.
